What the..........turtle?

Tonight around 7:15 pm, Hunter came running into the house yelling "Noah found a TURTLE". We couldn't think there really could be a turtle in our yard, I mean how bizarre is that. We ran outside and it was totally true. In my flower bed was this....
We were trying to quickly decide where it might have come from and what we should do with it.
We put it down on the grass and this is what happened.... I didn't know a turtle could run so fast.

We ran to the garage and got an empty tank, put water, lettuce and the turtle inside. I hurried and made a sign...Found...small turtle and stapled it to the post out on the corner of the road. I know we have a neighbor around the corner and a few houses away that collects turtles of all kinds. AS we were still standing outside, THAT lady and her daughter drove slowly up our street. I thought maybe they were looking for something. I waved them down, but they just kept on driving up to the corner. They looked at the sign and immediately their reverse lights came on as they backed down to our house. She jumped out and said, "Do you have my turtle?"
I told her we had just discovered the turtle about 20 minutes ago, and everything including the sign was within that time. They were NOT driving up my street for any other reason than to get home. She was ecstatic!!!!! She said it became lost LAST WEDNESDAY!!!!! Where has he been for nine days! She said sometimes they will bury themselves and she has been looking EVERYWHERE for him. She warned all her neighbors to be on the lookout for him as well. He even had to cross a street to get to my house! I just can't believe it!!! I am beyond amazed at the coincidences of this turtle finding it's home in a matter of less than a half an hour.......after 9 days! Gay is thrilled to have her $100 turtle back (isn't that a bummer....she had only had him for about 4 months). We had an exciting Friday evening at our house. I mean, really....how often could that adventure happen? (Besides we had NO idea what WE were going to do with a turtle) He was cute!
